White wine IGT Veneto

The amphorae were the first wine containers. In Georgia, where they originated 8,000 years ago and are still produced today, they are called Qvevri and are a World Heritage Site.
We are really pleased with an experimental project that we are running with the amphora wine from our winery.
The “Arcaico”, Bianco Veneto IGT wine, made from Chardonnay and Verduzzo grapes, is refined from 6 to 8 months in small ceramic amphorae that give this wine finesse and elegance.

Name: Arcaico – Bianco Veneto IGT.
Production: Organic wine – Certificate IT BIO 004. Vegan wine.
Grapes: 70% Chardonnay – 30% Verduzzo.
Production area: City of Mansuè, locality Basalghelle.
Soil Type: Clay-Calcareous of alluvial origin.
Harvest: In the cooler hours of the day. The Chardonnay grape are harvested in late August, early September. The Verduzzo Friulano grape areharvested in late September.
Vilification and refinement: The grapes, harvest by hand, are softly pressed. After a slow alcoholic fermentation, the wine refined 6/8 months in small ceramic amphorae, in touch with its yeasts. After a little time in barrique, the wine refined 6 months in the battle.
Colour: Intensive pale yellow.
Smell profile: Nose: Fragrance of flowers, of peach flowers; and fragrance of ripe fruits, of apple and pineapple. Note of vanilla. In the mouth it’s dry, with good alcohol, and a good acid freshness. It’s balanced and elegant.
Food pairing: First courses and main courses of fish. Medium seasoned cheese and Gorgonzola.
Alcohol: 13% vol. at bottling.
Service Temp.: 12-14°C.
Production: LLimited production, less then 2000 bottles in a year.
